Journal Entry 001: Through the Glass explores vulnerability as a starting point for growth, focusing on the act of stripping away performative habits and confronting the inner self. The project was intended as the beginning of an ongoing series, each centered around a singular category — with this chapter focusing on accessories.
I developed a range of modular accessories designed to adapt to different uses, including tote bags with snap-on pockets and adjustable components. Alongside this, core garments such as t-shirts and sweatshirts were included as foundational pieces within the collection.
Language played a key role in the project, with phrases such as “Chaos,” “Stay True,” and “Be You” used throughout the garments. Rather than presenting these ideas at face value, they were intended to reflect internal tension and self-awareness, reinforcing the theme of confronting and understanding one’s own state.
I led the creative direction and collaborated with a graphic designer to develop the visual language. Fabrics, trims, and hardware were sourced locally, and I developed accessory patterns, created pre-production samples, and worked directly with manufacturers, embroidery vendors, and DTG operators to produce the collection.
The project also extended into a short film inspired by The Hire (BMW x Clive Owen), using a heist narrative as a metaphor for loss, vulnerability, and rebuilding. The film was used to highlight the durability and function of the modular pieces in motion. The collection was released and sold online.
